Hebrews 13: 7-8 discusses that we should consider those who have spoken and influenced us based on what impact they've made on us regarding Jesus's teachings. These are the people that God wants us to follow. As a leader, we should strive to make our influence through the foundation of Christ's philosophy and teachings. From personal experience, I've learned that while doing our services for God, which include being involved in worship in a church setting, it's more beneficial to follow God's philosophical teachings and apply them to your work as an educator and a leader. While I don't necessarily remember a leader recently, my grandma was the first person that came into mind when reading over this passage. In a world where everything is dominated by social media, along with its measurements of "likes and followers," my grandma always told me to follow humility and be frugal. While not everything is based on how rich or popular you are, your actual "rich" worth is based on your character and how you carry yourself. Humility is not thinking of others more, but more so thinking of yourself less. As leaders, we should focus on our students before ourselves, just as Jesus put us before Himself.
