This passage reminds me that you should trust God's plan no matter how life goes. Generally speaking, life is unpredictable; however, all reasoning for things in life is due to God's ultimate plan for you. There will be moments in life when everything seems down; however, God allows these things to happen, all for good reason. In the passage, the anger of God rose against the strongest right before their cravings were satisfied; however, he spared the young men of Israel. Another aspect to consider from this reading is that when God gives us challenges in life, he usually gives challenges to the strongest warriors. God gives his strongest battles to his toughest warriors, knowing that they can handle it; trust in God because he wouldn't give you a challenge that you couldn't handle. Ultimately, God wants us to fully trust him given the challenges offered to us in life; it wouldn't be handled by us if God knew we couldn't handle it. All these challenges with the trust in the Lord are ultimately just a part of God's plan that will give us everlasting peace and happiness based on the lessons we learn from the challenges.
